1. Who we are

Consumables is run by [Your full name], a sole trader, at [Your business address]. Contact: [your support email].

2. What Consumables is

Consumables is a study and practice tool for UK electricians and apprentices: revision questions, mock exams, study tools, circuit-testing simulations and Frontiers articles.

It helps you learn. It is not a qualification, an assessment by an awarding body, or a replacement for your training provider, the current BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations), or the judgement of a competent person. Always work to the current regulations and your training when doing real electrical work.

3. Your account

• Keep your sign-in email secure: sign-in links are sent there.
• One account is for one person. Don't share it.
• You're responsible for what you add (for example NVQ evidence, or posts if you write for Frontiers).

4. Subscriptions and payment

• The Academy costs £6.49 a month or £40 a year (the price shown when you subscribe). Payments are taken by Stripe.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.
• Cancel any time from Profile → Plan & billing → Manage subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• If a payment fails, access is paused until the payment goes through.
• If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Your right to cancel

UK law normally gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Because Consumables is digital content that starts straight away, that right ends once you start using the paid features, where you've agreed to that when subscribing. If something isn't right in your first 14 days, email us and we'll put it right or refund you.

6. Fair use

• Don't copy, share or resell the questions, simulations or articles.
• Don't try to get around the plan you've paid for, the sign-in, or the marking.
• Don't upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to use.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why.

7. Frontiers writers

If you write for Frontiers you keep the copyright in your writing, and give us a permanent, free licence to publish it on Consumables. Posts are reviewed and signed off before they're published, and we may unpublish a post at any time. Paid writers agree separate terms.

8. Accuracy and our responsibility

We work hard to keep the content accurate and checked against the current BS 7671, but regulations change and mistakes can happen. If you spot one, use "Report a problem" or email us.

We're not responsible for losses that come from relying on the content instead of the current regulations, your training or a competent person, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; we'll tell you by email about important changes. You can close your account at any time from Profile. We may close the service with reasonable notice, and refund any unused part of a yearly subscription if we do.

10. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
